Fight with Derek

A beloved Cullum team member needs support. Derek Gillespie has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This diagnosis comes as a shock to all of us. One day Derek was at work struggling with back pain, and the next day he was in the hospital with this unimaginable diagnosis. Derek spent a month in the hospital to get his pain level manageable before he began radiation treatments. As he navigates his treatment journey, the financial burden of medical bills, medications, and therapy is overwhelming. His wife, Lori, is not working in order to be there for Derek and their 12-year-old daughter, Emma. They do not have medical insurance, and Derek is unable to work. Keeping up with treatments, buying medication, feeling the normal stress of the holiday season, all while trying to keep life as normal as possible for Emma, must seem impossible with the fight ahead.
