Donation protected
UPDATE: Jan 26, 2024

We have wonderful news to share! Heather has been accepted into a specialized treatment program in Mexico! This revolutionary treatment has a very selective criteria and only accepts 10% of applicants but has an 85% success rate. We are thrilled with the opportunity and are blessed with the support and encouragement from the community. Thank you all that have donated and sent words of support, well wishes and prayers.
Fight with Heather!!!!

.......................................................................................

On Dec 15 2021, Heather started her battle with cancer. To say she is anything less than a warrior would be an understatement. When she was initially diagnosed, she was referred for colon resection surgery which she had successfully on December 21, 2021. A few weeks later she spoke with her Oncologist and was told her cancer had metastasized (spread) to her liver and lungs and was given the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer. She was immediately given a chemotherapy schedule and started at the end of January 2022.

Her main focus has always been on her family which include her three kids and partner in life, Craig. They have given her strength, love, laughter and tears all throughout this journey. After over 2 years, 1 surgery, 30+ chemo treatments, and 5 rounds of radiation we have learned that this ferocious enemy is not backing down. The chemo is no longer working and was told it was time to leave no stone unturned and consider any option we can to allow her to continue to fight. Heather has not lost hope, her unrelenting optimism and spirit propels her to keep fighting and looking for new options, as long as there is hope she’s prepared to fight. Her fight is in hopes that she can spend more time with her family and friends, creating memories, sharing in milestones, and watching her beautiful children grow.

After being told the treatment wasn’t working Heather and her family and team of doctors have started exploring unconventional options.

Some of the options include:
• Medications not covered by Cancer Care Ontario
• Clinical trials in Canada
• Treatments outside of Canada

All of these options have the potential to add extra family stress both emotionally and financially – and this is where we, her friends, neighbours and supporters come in! We are hoping to offload some of the financial burdens for Heather and her family so they can focus on each other, their positivity and healing.

If you are able to do so, we would appreciate any support in the form of donations and positive messages to share with Heather and her family during this time of uncertainty and adjustment. We know that times may be tough for some of you and want you to know a message of support and positivity is just as appreciated right now.
