Judith's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Judith Hernandez is a young, compassionate, loving and strong soul. She has been battling with Synovial Sarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer, since 2010 at the age of 15. The sarcoma was first diagnosed at her cervical spine where she had a total of 3 surgeries performed to remove the tumors within 3 years. Due to the surgeries, a piece of her neck was literally taken and with that a large part of her identity.
The recovery from each surgery caused a lot of pain and required regular hospital visits to monitor the tumor. Following her third surgery, proton radiation treatment reduced the size of the tumor. Although she was not completely in the clear, and despite Judith's painful situation, she continued on with her normal life and graduated high school alongside her friends and classmates.
In 2014, Judith did not allow the cancer to discourage her from pursuing her goals and began classes at her local college to become a registered dental assistant. We were all so proud to see her rise above her disease with no complications. Then Judith began to have abnormal symptoms such as difficulty breathing and chest pain. The doctor discovered a mass in her lower right lung and found that the cancer had metastasized. Judith decided that it was finally time to give chemotherapy a try.
Chemotherapy was draining and long, with many trips to the ER, but she fought fiercely and gracefully. With each treatment there was a sense of loss of life, which caused her a lot of physical pain as well as mental anguish, especially after losing her beautiful long hair. After 6 rounds of chemo, which merely stabilized the tumor, Judith underwent surgery once more in 2015 to remove the remaining mass in her lung. During her recovery, Judith discovered holistic approaches to cure cancer such as drinking alkaline water, Vitamin B-17 supplement, and making nutritious choices in her diet. These alternative methods initially showed a reduction of the tumor and led to complete remission.
After reading a book about chemotherapy, Judith's perspective of the treatment confirmed that it was not for her. She learned that chemo was slowly depriving her of 3-5 years of life with each treatment, and she preferred a treatment that did not cause further harm to her body. Judith decided that she would never receive chemotherapy again.
After several months of being in remission, we were sure that this horrible scary chapter of our lives was behind us. Unfortunately, now in 2016 we have learned that the cancer has come back once again, now at stage four, but this time it has spread to the inner lining of her right lung where four additional tumors have been found. After consulting with an oncologist, chemotherapy was once again recommended, which would help control the pain, but do nothing to cure the cancer. It is known that spindle cell synovial sarcoma is unresponsive to chemotherapy. This alternative is not an option for Judith because she wants to do more than just maintain the current status of her illness; she wants to explore possibilities for a cure.
Looking for alternative treatments, insurance became a problem. Switching to private insurance would be unaffordable which presented fewer options to explore.
We found an Immunity Therapy Center in Tijuana, Mexico that offers an effective, alternative cancer treatment option. We truly believe that this holistic treatment will cure her cancer and we simply do not have the financial means to pay for it so we are asking for your help. Being the fighter that she is, she refuses to allow cancer to dominate her future. The past six years have only made her stronger and this experience has enhanced her charisma, strength, and love for life and others.
Her experiences with holistic treatments have shown her that they work. We are advocates of her fight and are not ready to give up. We refuse to let cancer win. So we ask you to please believe in her and believe that this treatment is what will break her free from this disease that has taken a toll on her life. We are hopeful for the future and cannot wait for the day Judith is cancer free! Any donation will truly help.
We humbly thank you and pray you can understand how meaningful your contribution will be to give Judith hope and encourage her to continue to fight for her life.
