Fighting All Cancer Together

By 2020 almost 1 in 2 people in the North East will diagnosed with cancer. Thankfully, new and improved treatment and care means many people are surviving and living longer following diagnosis. However this means that more people need support services, and need them to help them live with and beyond cancer. Support needs to catch up with medical advances. FACT aim to build the UKs first Cancer Support, Awareness and Education Center in Gateshead. As most of you know cancer has already reared its head in my life, taking my auntie from us far too soon. I am sure someone you know has also been affected by it. This is why I pledge, with the help of CDM to do my part in helping to raise over £5000 over 12 months to help build a much needed pioneering center in the North East to help people get the support they need. I plan to kick this off by pledging to swim the distance of the Isle of Man coastline, 160km.
