Fighting for Carlos

Honestly, this entire situation has been a nightmare, so I don’t know where to start… My name is Paige Parker and I was in the process of adopting my nephew Via the state. I flew up to Alaska from Arizona (our winter home) a few months early to start this process. When I received my nephew, he wasn’t hitting any of the milestones for a 2yr old, let alone an almost 3yr old. We have worked together with an amazing medical team to catch him up on dr visits, behavioral health, and speech therapies. We also worked on many other areas that desperately needed help. We were weeks away from a permanency hearing when the Tribe of Togiak took jurisdiction. I knew they didn’t want my nephew placed with me from the beginning, but the ICWA worker never gave Me a reason why. We had opened as many avenues for communication between us and the ones who love this child. We are currently entering a legal battle between me and my Biological mothers Tribe. The Tribe of Togiak is planning on placing my nephew in a home the state found to be unsafe. They have ignored my concerns about this and have even denied my request to petition for adoption (as is my right as a native eligible for enrollment in their Tribe). I know I have a huge fight a head of me but my nephews entire future is at stake here. Please help us any way you can be it donation or just sharing our story.
