Fighting for Danielle Lunn

You don't have to, you get to.

Matthew 17:20, Jesus said, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

A 30 year old wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a fighter, a cancer survivor these are all the things that Danielle is.

Seven weeks ago my sister, Danielle, was transported to the University of Virginia Hospital there were a multitude of things going on but the biggest was that of Purpura fulminans which is a thrombotic disorder which manifests as blood spots, bruising and discoloration of the skin resulting from coagulation in small blood vessels within the skin and rapidly leads to skin necrosis and disseminated intravascular coagulation.  In simpler terms let’s just put it this way it is a very rare disorder that attacks your skin and soft tissues.  On Friday, May 21, 2021, Danielle was transferred to John Hopkins Bayview Hospital, in Baltimore MD, to the burn and wound care unit.  They are highly trained in treating severe wounds like Danielle’s.  She has had her first surgery on Monday, April 24, 2021, to start the removal or (debridement) of the dead skin on the front side of her body.  They were able to put cadaver skin on the places on her arms but her legs and feet are still a work in progress.  This type of surgery is very painful and the nurses and doctors at John Hopkins are doing a great job in taking care of her and managing her pain.  Her second surgery is scheduled for Monday where they will continue to remove the dead skin on her backside and possibly remove her toes as they are necrotic (we are praying that God breaths life into her feet and this doesn’t have to happen).  This has taken a physical and emotional toll on Danielle and her family she is now three hours away and when we are able to visit it is one person per day for three hours.  However, God gave us favor this past Thursday and they made an exception for her mom and I to both visit.  This will be a very slow and long process and we are unsure of how many surgeries she will actually have to have and at some point she will have to have skin graph surgery as well. You may be saying oh how terrible is this and yes it is but Danielle has stayed strong and has stood on God’s word through this all she has been an inspiration to me even when my faith has waivered she is my hero.  I know that no matter what the outcome God is in the midst of all of this and that is what is important to remember.  She has beat leukemia and had her two year stem cell transplant birthday this past March and I know she will get through this to.  The main reason I’m starting this Go Fund Me is that God has laid it on my heart that she will need a home that she is able to move around in a wheelchair freely without a lot of obstacles.  We are praying for something in the TA school district so her son, Noah, does not have to change schools.  I know this is a big ask and I’m not exactly sure how this will happen if it’s a piece of land that God provides so that we can build her something or if it’s a home already built I’m just not sure but I know that God knows and nothing is to big for him.  So there it is the good the bad and the ugly.  I pray that if God lays it on your heart to donate know that you will be blessed in ways that even you don’t know.  He is good and faithful all the time.

Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
