Fighting For Eli

My name is Rachael Rogan, I am a registered nurse and a friend of Eli from Batemans Bay, and on behalf of Batemans Bay Tigers we are raising funds for Eli Chatfield. Eli is a family friend and funds raised will be used to assist with costs associated with his medical treatment, traveling for treatment and day to day living whilst undergoing treatment. Bay Tigers Junior Rugby Legue Club, Batemans Bay are raising much needed funds for our mate Eli Chatfield, he is 11 years old and this champ is on the fight of his life against brain cancer.  Unfortunately cancer is not unfamiliar to Eli, having lost his Dad to cancer last year,  something that no boy should have to go through. Now in another cruel blow this family is doing battle with cancer once again. 
Eli was running around playing footy with his mates, enjoying normal 11 year old boy life.. then in one day everything changed. 
Just a few weeks ago Eli and his Mum Sarah, and brother Tremaine, were told at Canberra hospital that Eli required urgent surgery to remove a tumour on his medulla ( the base of the brain) above the brain stem. He was rushed to Sydney Children's Hospital where they removed most of the tumour, unfortunately they could not get a small amount in the brain stem, and scans showed patches infiltrating the spine from pathology showing a medulloblastoma. His team at the Kids Hospital are confident that they will remove this with aggressive radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
As you can imagine it's been a big shock to this little footy champ, and to his mum and brother who have not left his bedside. It is also a very long way from home in Batemans Bay. 
Sarah Eli's mum is unable to work while being away, and needs to be there 100%.
We need your help to do that. We are raising funds to provide financial assistance to Eli, his Mum and brother. We want the best support possible for his treatment ahead in Sydney, which is expected to be quite a few months just for treatment. 
Before Eli's diagnosis he was a super happy kid, who loved his footy, his mates and family, his world has completely changed, but hopefully with necessary urgent funds we can support our Bay tiger, our mate.
