Fighting for her life. Love for Jacklyn Loder

If you have been to Earls Prince George lately, you may have noticed a major missing member from the Earls family and team who is truly irreplaceable. It should be known that our dear friend, Jacklyn, has had the most difficult year of her life and we want to give her the love and support she so deserves.

Jacklyn is caring, generous, hospitable, passionate, incredibly hard working and exudes an infectious energy that everyone wants to be around. She was born in St. Lawrence Newfoundland, grew up in Houston BC, and spent several years in Victoria. However, she eventually moved here to Prince George to be closer to her family and to pursue her passions originally in Forestry but soon found an undeniable love for the Food and Wine industry. Regardless of where Jacklyn has lived, she will not hesitate to share her pride as a Newfoundlander. As a Newfie, she is known to capitalize on her Newfie slang and when most people would ask, “how’s it going?” Jacklyn will most likely say “whaddya at?”

For seventeen years, Jacklyn has dedicated her life to being a leader, mentor, confidant, a kind voice, a shoulder to cry on, and a friendly face with a contagious smile not only to the people she works along side with, but also the guests she welcomes daily at Earls.

To pursue her knowledge as a Food and Wine enthusiast even further, Jacklyn recently had taken on the endeavor of becoming a certified Sommelier to expand her insight and expertise on one of her many passions.

The loves of her life, Chris and Zazu are her entire world and she spoils them both to no end. Jacklyn is a beloved daughter, sister, auntie, niece, cousin, friend, and well-respected leader and business partner. Family means everything to Jacklyn and at this time, she wants nothing more than to be with them.

Unfortunately, as of recently Jacklyn’s job, education, and entire life has been put on hold because she has been diagnosed with cancer. Leading up to this detrimental news, Jacklyn had been put through a particularly challenging medical journey over this past year that involved her being in excruciating pain that disrupted her whole life. After two emergency surgeries, one including a hysterectomy, Jacklyn has been diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Her specific form of cancer is an extremely rare and difficult diagnosis that is affecting her internal organs. The doctors have suggested at this point there is no other option besides aggressive chemotherapy to buy her more time.

Starting immediately, Jacklyn will begin six rounds of chemotherapy for the next four months in hopes of slowing the growth of the tumors that have spread to some of her major organs. The main goal with Jacklyn taking on these tremendously challenging treatments is to shrink the tumors so that she can continue to live the beautiful life she has so graciously built.

As a result of this grim reality, Jacklyn has been unable to work for the last two months with no date of return in the foreseeable future. Her main and only focus right now is to fight for her life.

During this time, it is vital that Jacklyn maintain her strength and courage and surround herself with family and loved ones. While Jacklyn does have a strong support system in place, the burden of finances is inevitable which is why we are asking anyone who can help, to help.

The donations from this fundraiser will be put towards any medical costs incurred as well as helping cover the cost of everyday living. These funds will allow Jacklyn’s closest loved ones to be by her side during her uncertain future. Any amount donated is greatly appreciated by Jacklyn and her family.

If you cannot donate, please take the time to send your love for Jacklyn on this page and consider sharing this link so that others can learn about her story.

We will continue to update this page with any information that becomes available.

As world shattering as this news has been, Jacklyn is eager to give it her all. She is a strong and resilient woman but now more than ever, she needs your love, prayers and support.

On behalf of Jacklyn and her family, thank you for your love and support during this fight she will hopefully one day win.
