Fighting for More Time with Avo

Donation protected
This is Avo. He’s our five-year-old pup, and he’s more than just a dog—he’s our calm in the chaos, our first baby, and the heart of our little family.

We got Avo in the middle of the pandemic. When we went to meet the litter, he walked right up to us, tilted his head while my husband scratched behind his ears—and that was it. He chose us. Since then, he’s been with us through everything: a big adventure to Oregon, moving from Minnesota to Florida, and most recently, welcoming our newborn baby. Avo and our baby already adore each other. He also has a dog sister, Zaha, who he gently—but firmly—keeps in line like a true big brother.

He has always been the steady, loving presence through every life change.

Some of my favorite memories with Avo are of the two of us walking quietly through fresh snow in Minnesota. Everything would be still and peaceful, just the sound of our feet and his soft little sniffs. He brings that same peace and comfort everywhere he goes.

Avo also has a joyful, goofy side—he once even had a video go viral on Instagram! Strangers across the internet fell in love with his charm, just like everyone who meets him in real life. He has a way of making people smile just by being himself.

We never imagined we’d be writing one of these posts. Asking for help like this is incredibly hard. But right now, we are living our worst fear—Avo is sick, and we don’t know yet how serious it is.

He recently started showing scary symptoms—vomiting, lethargy, constipation, and even nosebleeds. After several vet visits, we discovered he has lumps on his liver. He’s undergoing diagnostic testing tonight so we can finally get answers. We’re hoping with everything we have that it’s something treatable.

The costs of the diagnostics alone are overwhelming, and we haven’t even begun to think about treatment yet. As much as it hurts to ask, we’re reaching out for help.

If you’re able to contribute—whether it’s $5, $50, or just sharing this with others—it would mean the world to us. Every bit helps us fight for more time, more walks, more cuddles, and more memories with Avo.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being part of Avo’s village.

With love and gratitude,
Delia and Tim
