Update 3/15/23 as of 75am.
Mom is arriving to the imaging office to prep for her PT scan now. I didn’t go because she said she’s got this!! Doyle is taking her and they will keep me updated. We have a follow up next Wednesday at 1015am. Not sure if we will know anything today or not. We have heard from several people that MD Anderson is the place for her rare cancer. So, I told her today while she was getting scanned, I would look into MD. We are ready set go for Ochsner but not with this cancer. Thank you for your continued prayers. My mom feels everyone of them. ❤️

Update 3/12/23 as of 947am
Please keep my parents in your prayers today. If there is a prayer list at your church, please add them to it. Mom should be finding out how far this cancer has spread tomorrow. My pops is covid free PTL! His heart is not in good shape tho. In reality, if he doesn’t get the results the mitraclip is supposed to give…he may be a candidate for a heart transplant. My mind cannot go there. God would never put us through this much at once. I have faith. Neither one of them can work right now and some of my pops bills are getting paid with your generous donations. However, the bills keep coming. I am going to be working on a plan to help him find a better insurance alternative than the cobra. These last 10 days have been a whirlwind of emotion, gratitude, and now we just need answers so we can move forward with a plan. Please help if you can by sharing a nice word of kindness, sharing this post, a prayer, a small donation if you can. We know these are challenging times. That’s why we have this campaign. Guy and my entire family will do everything in our power to meet as many needs as we can. Business isn’t great like it was 5 years ago but we manage. We are liquidating some things that can help take the burden off my parents. I am planning a crazy garage sale next Saturday. All funds will go to my parents. Thabk you for donating and following us on this unknown journey. ❤️

Update 3/9/23 as of 1107am
We got the news this morning that Doyle is covid free. Praise God. Mom can go home and get in her own bed and have her dogs by her side. We had her follow up for the biopsy report yesterday and unfortunately the 3 pathologist reviewing the report have not concluded their assessment. The pulmonary doctor assured us that the nodule is a tumor on the right lung and she has lesions. The lymph nodes in her neck are swollen which means the cancer has spread. We are awaiting the exact type of cancer, stage and spread. This is new territory for us so if I get the terminology wrong, my apologies. I am hopeful the doctor will call with the results today. We are disinfecting the house for her safe return. All the grandkids will be here by the weekend and we are shooting for a family portrait Tuesday. Thank you for the continued prayers and donations. She loves and appreciates each of you. ❤️

Update as of 3/5/23 808am
My Pops is still home with covid and I have my mom with me so she doesn’t get sick with covid. It’s the last thing she needs. We are blessed by the outpouring of calls, text, prayers, donations and concern. My mom will find out her biopsy results on Wednesday. The doctor couldn’t get a biopsy from the mass itself because of the clot so they went in through the swollen lymph nodes. Please please keep them both in your prayers. This is one of the most difficult challenges I’ve endured and trust me when I say I’ve had my fair share. We are holding up. Mom has her meds. I’ve got her on a probiotic and vitamin D supplements. She slept great last night and said this morning that she has a little more energy than before. Probably that coffee I got her. :-)) I’m trying to keep it together y’all. Between my own family, husband, kids, business and school, I have my hands full. I’m no spring chicken either. There’s no place else I’d rather be then enjoying this precious time with my mom. I just wish my stepdad could be here too. His follow up for his heart surgery was supposed be my birthday, March 7 but he canceled with all that is going on with mom. Please keep them in your prayers as neither of them can work. My brothers and myself are banding together to make sure they are taken care of and everything little bit helps. If you can please help spread this message, you’d be helping us get through this more than you know. Thank you for sharing. ❤️✝️

Update as of 3/4/23 534am

Mom was able to get the biopsy done yesterday evening and we are hoping she will get released today. The plan was for her to go home until we can get her admitted to oschners. The ambulance ride isn’t necessary at this point because she is out of ICU Praise God. She is in a regular room right now. Unfortunately, she cannot go home because we just found out Doyle has covid bless his heart. So we are putting mom up away from Doyle for now until he gets better. We cannot take any chances. I will do my best to keep everyone posted. Thank you for all of your generous donations and prayers.

Update as of 3/2/23 923 pm

My mother has been advised to get to Ochsners in New Orleans as soon as possible. The other option is the Mayo clinic in Jacksonville, which is at full capacity. I have to wait until 8 o’clock in the morning to find out if Ochsners will take her. Sacred Heart is willing to take her by ambulance as she needs to get out of there as soon as possible based on her diagnosis. Please pray we can get her admitted at Ochsners. ✝️

Her name is synonymous with Wonder Woman. She has always been my hero from the day I was born. This is my beautiful, amazing and fierce mother, Linda Carter, who has just been diagnosed with lung cancer. There’s no determination of what kind or how far along it is. The doctors are certain it is cancer as her white blood count was off the charts. She has had 4 bags of blood transfusions to balance out her levels. We were hoping to get the biopsy done this evening (3/2/23). After trying to get the process started, the doctors found a blood clot in between the large mass and lungs. They have admitted her to ICU for further treatment and evaluation. The outpouring of love and prayer has definitely kept her spirits up. Thank you and please keep them coming. We discussed the idea of a GoFundMe last night because of the financial battle they have been dealing with head on for the past year or so has possibly just begun. We are praying for a miracle that my beautiful mom recovers in the name of Jesus. I also pray for the complete healing of my stepdad who just underwent an extensive heart procedure to have a mitraclip put in to redirect the blood flow from his heart. We need all the prayers and love right now. Financial donations would be an added blessing and would help alleviate that extra stress on the two of them. My mom was born in Greenwood, MS in 1954. She graduated and raised us 3 kids. We moved to Florida in 1988 and she eventually met and married Captain Doyle Carter, from Plano, TX in 1997. They are wonderful parents to us 3 grown kids and amazing grandparents to their 5 grandchildren. Anyone is welcome to reach out to me for a private donation via Facebook. Aubrey Santucci
