Fighting Osteosarcoma With Ellie Belly Bully

Donation protected
After the last month and a half of going to many extremes so suddenly ..we have one more to give our best shot. As many of you know a few days before Ellie’s 3rd birthday she was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma of the rib. Ellie underwent a massive surgery having the tumor and 3 of her ribs removed and recovered better than anyone could have imagined! At our 3 week recheck we were supose to start chemo but unfortunately X-rays showed 2 new lung nodules not making her eligible for chemo anymore..at this time we agreed to a new drug trial to try and slow the progression. Over the next 3 weeks I had Ellie on a waiting list for the Yale cancer vaccine in Ohio and I also planned a trip and booked an appointment with a surgeon in San Diego..we were going across the state to have the lung nodules removed the least invasive way possible but it all depended on her next X-ray results. Last Friday at her second repeat X-rays the unthinkable happened….Ellie’s one lung nodule had tripled in size and the other nodule turned out to be recurrence of her rib tumor which only happens in 12% of dogs and again it had already tripled in size. This unfortunately made Ellie no longer eligible for her surgery in San Diego..and we were told it’s the most aggressive case they have ever seen. After talking to numerous doctors all over the world we were able to be booked and on an emergency list to try Ellie with Steriotactic Radiation in Colorado State. We never imagined it would be this soon..we have to pick up and leave today for our drive and will be spending the week driving and staying quite a ways away with the hopes of giving Ellie more time as she deserves. Ellie is the sweetest, funniest, kindest, brightest soul I have ever met and is my velcro..my other half..at this point I have given Ellie all I have and more and will continue to until I don’t have any other possible option..many of you have told me to ask for help this entire time but I have been stubborn..but this is for Ellie..the amount of love and support we have been given this entire journey is overwhelming and makes me speechless..this community is one of a kind and we love you all!! Since it feels wrong accepting anything more from all of your kind souls if you are alright with it I would also love to donate a portion of what is so kindly donated to us in the end to the canine cancer alliance to further their trials and studies and hopefully get them over to Canada as well for anyone else that may go through this unimaginable journey..thank you to all of you as always
