My Cancer Journey: A Plea for Support and Hope.

Introducing Myself and My Cause

Hello, my name is Nazanin, and I am a 36-year-old Iranian woman who fled Iran 12 years ago to escape the oppressive, anti-women Extreme Islamic regime. Seeking freedom and a better life, I moved to Italy, where I navigated the challenges of being alone, studying, and working to build a new life. Eventually, love found its way into my life, and I married the love of my life. However, our joy was short-lived as I was diagnosed with cancer just before my matrimony last year.

Why This Cause is Important to Me

My battle with cancer has been incredibly difficult. Our honeymoon was spent in the hospital undergoing radiochemioterapy , and the fear of death overshadowed our happiness. My illness, is one that can largely be prevented with proper awareness, vaccination, and regular checkups—things that were inaccessible to me due to the oppressive cultural and political norms in Iran.

Growing up, I faced immense challenges in accessing proper healthcare. This cultural and political stigma prevented me from getting the necessary vaccinations and screenings that could have prevented my cancer.
Last year, after experiencing severe pain and bleeding, I was diagnosed with cancer. Despite undergoing radio chemotherapy and initially responding to treatment, my cancer has returned and spread, making the battle even more arduous.

The Setback and Its Impact

After starting radiation therapy, I experienced pain and swelling in one of my lymph nods. Despite informing the doctors that this inflammation needed monitoring, my concerns were not adequately addressed. The pain persisted and became constant. It took 8 months of insistence before a PET scan was performed, revealing that some of my lymph nods, were cancerous. The return of the cancer, known as recurrence, was a devastating blow. The doctors informed me that this indicated the cancer had spread throughout my body, meaning that treatment would need to continue for years. This recurrence, likely exacerbated by the delayed diagnosis, has made this phase of my illness even more challenging than the initial diagnosis.

How the Funds Will Be Used

Currently, I am in Germany, where my husband and I moved for a job opportunity. As I lost my job last year, and my husband didn’t find any job in Italy . Unfortunately, my cancer returned shortly after our move. With our insurance and documentation not yet sorted, I have to travel back to Italy for treatment, while my husband remains in Germany to work. His income is low, and our combined expenses, including my medical bills, transportation, and 2 rents, are overwhelming.

I am seeking funds to cover the costs of my treatment, including chemoteraphy, holistic therapy, and immunotherapy, which offer hope but are financially out of reach. Additionally, I need support for daily living expenses, supplements, and vitamins crucial for my health. Your help will not only provide me with the medical treatment I need but also allow my husband and me to maintain our life together during this challenging time.as being alone during this journey is really difficult.

Why Your Support Matters

Your support is not just about helping me fight cancer; it is about giving me a chance to live and love. After enduring years of struggle and finding love, I am determined to overcome this illness and cherish the life my husband and I have started. Moreover, I dream of seeing a free Iran, liberated from the oppressive regime that has caused so much suffering. Women in Iran have been fighting bravely, and I believe that freedom is within reach.

By helping me, you are not only giving me a chance to live but also supporting my hope to witness the day when Iranian women achieve the freedom and justice they deserve.

Conclusion

I humbly ask for your help to continue my treatment and give me a fighting chance at life. Your generosity will provide the medical care I need and allow me to hold on to the hope of a future filled with love and freedom. Thank you for being a part of my journey and for giving me the strength to keep fighting.
