Fighting Together for Kirsten to Help Beat Cancer
Donation protected
Our beloved wife, mom, sister, and grandmother Kirsten (Haydock) Westlund, is facing a battle – Metaplastic Breast Cancer, a rare and aggressive form of the disease. Recently diagnosed, she now embarks on a critical journey, one that requires specialized medical insight and consultation far from home, and we are appealing for your support to help her fight every step of the way.
Kirsten’s kindness, positivity, and love for friends and family has touched so many of us and now we are hoping these qualities are resonating in your own heart as we ask for help.
Metaplastic breast cancer, a triple negative form of the disease and makes up less than 1% of all breast cancers. It is often not responsive to treatment common with other forms of the breast cancer. Kirsten has found one of the only research hospitals in the nation that studies and specializes in treating her cancer, MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. This is an encouraging discovery, but also comes with additional expenses related to travel, testing and treatment consultation that are not covered by insurance.
Kirsten started her initial treatment of chemo/immunotherapy last week and will be traveling to Houston later this month to meet with the team at MD Anderson to help map the path forward. We, her family, are committed to standing by her side every step of the way. But we can't do it alone. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a world of difference in this crucial time.
Every donation will directly help:
• Cover travel expenses for regular trips to the specialized research hospital.
• Bridge the gap for uncovered medical costs that are recommended in her treatment.
We have been amazed with Kirsten’s attitude as she has managed the tribulations, hurdles, and unknowns of her circumstances. She is determined to win this battle and is confident she has found the right path to ensure she will.
This fight is personal, but the impact can be collective. With your compassion and generosity, we can help ease the financial burden and support Kirsten’s journey to recovery. Together, we can show her the power of love and community in the face of adversity.
Please donate and share this campaign with your loved ones. We appreciate your support and prayers. Every act of kindness brings us closer to victory.
