Fighting Triple Negative Cancer w JoAnn Alexander

Donation protected
Let me tell you about JoAnn Alexander! She is a force of nature. She is a powerhouse in our church and in our community. Her faith in God is so big; her trust in His purpose is unshakeable. I am so lucky to have her and her family in my life.

JoAnn puts her husband, Bubba, her four beautiful children, Tayler, Morgan, Sawyer, Braxton and her grandson, Kaleb, all before herself. She is at every dance recital, fundraiser, baseball game. Anyone that knows JoAnn, knows that they have an eager ear to listen, a warm cup of coffee and an open door when in need. It's time we rally together to put JoAnn first. First in our prayers, and next in financial support of this wonderful family. God's story for JoAnn is not done being written. Thank you for your love and support as she continues this journey.

Cancer.
JoAnn was diagnosed with stage 4 triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma on September 14, 2021.

Discovery.
JoAnn recovered from a bad case of Covid-19. Then, at a visit, her Dr. expressed concern about a large mass that quickly appeared in her breast. She found out through MRI's and CT scans that it was, in fact, cancerous. They got a port put in and started as soon as they could.

Treatment.
Her team of doctors have been fighting ferociously with JoAnn by prescribing very aggressive chemo and radiation treatments. JoAnn had her chemotherapy port placement surgery on September 29th, and her first round of chemotherapy on October 8th- less than one month from receiving the diagnosis.
JoAnn’s doctors say that she will undergo 5 months of chemotherapy treatments (she currently is in her 3rd month). Some patients have treatment once a month; JoAnn gets treatment every single week. She even goes to work afterwards. After treatment she will then need to have a double mastectomy/lumpectomy/lymph node removal surgery and will still have 4 weeks of radiation following; before she will be able to have reconstructive surgery.

The fight ahead is still very long and will only continue to get harder. My hope in creating this GoFundMe is that we can join her in her fight by helping relieve some of the financial burden that comes with “you have cancer”. The average cost of treatment for this type of cancer is $100,000+.

Please join me in JoAnn’s fight. Please join her family in this fight. Any donation, grand or small, helps lessen the great financial burden of this family. The need is urgent.

From JoAnn and her family, "THANK YOU".
