Fighting with metastatic cancer. Emerson Florio
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Emerson Florio, I am a 40 year old Venezuelan-American man, recently diagnosed with mixed cell cancer of unknown origin and metastasis.
Until May 1, 2023 I was a completely healthy, hard-working man, without any medical condition. pre-existing or motor difficulties.
My whole life literally changed in the blink of an eye, since my job was construction, I had back pain, which I associated with my type of work, but this pain began to intensify, so much so that I had to leave. to the emergency room of a hospital located in Annapolis, Maryland, there they found that I had fluid in the pleura of my lung, they did a cytology of the fluid, finding cancer cells, from that moment the doctors told me that I should go to an oncologist Due to this discovery and to study a possible suspicion of cancer, my whole life changed, from that moment it was as if they had opened Pandora's box, symptoms that I had never had in my life began to appear, I began to lose weight, problems began to defecate and urinate, problems with neurological control and immobilization of one leg began. Since then, I have visited two more hospitals, the University of Maryland Medical Center located in Largo, Maryland, and I am currently hospitalized at this same hospital but based in the city of Baltimore, where the hospital's cancer center is located.
I really feel quite frustrated, with anxiety and stress because the doctors have not been able to determine what type of cancer is my disease for an effective treatment, still I continue with the hope and faith that I can find out what type of cells my cancer is. it is for better treatment. But along with this I feel like everything is falling apart, plus the doctors still have to figure out what type of cells my cancer is, the medical bills I have to pay are coming home.
I was the head of the family, a family of 4 members, my wife and I, and my two children, 7 and 5 years old.
I take advantage of this channel to request your support to be able to pay my medical expenses, and to be able to motivate science for a possible treatment that gives me more life expectancy. Honestly, every night when I go to sleep I am afraid, very afraid to sleep and not wake up anymore, but with faith and hope and the help of my family I was able to rest and take my life one day at a time.
Although I was born in the United States, I grew up and lived in Venezuela, but due to the economic situation in the country, I immigrated back to my country of birth with my family and I am happy because I have fulfilled so many dreams in such a short time. time to have emigrated that I would like to continue trying to have more life to enjoy these dreams and also spend more time with my children since in the end since they were born I have been with them enjoying only 3 years of their lives every day, I do not want grow up without a father and he did everything possible to fight and move on in life and with a lot of faith that the treatment that the doctors give me is effective for me.

update June 14, 2023
Today the medical team came to me, they told me that on Friday, June 16, if God allows it, they will do other imaging tests to see how well my body is doing and the first round of chemotherapy. Hopefully he has progressed well and can continue with treatment.

Today I have mixed feelings because there is hope, my children came to spend the day with me but sometimes I have short-term memory problems, so I hope I can always remember them.
