Fighting with Myles
Donation protected
I wanted to share some things about myself to give everyone who reads this message an idea of who I am. I'm Myles Rice, a 19-year-old student-athlete at Washington State University from Atlanta, Georgia, majoring in Sports Management. I am currently part of two organizations associated with WSU: the Black Student Athlete Association (BSAA) and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
During the past couple of years, I have had the opportunity to volunteer with Hosea Feed the Hungry and Hosea Back to School Jam which aims to serve the underserved Atlanta Metro communities. I also volunteered with the Special Olympics as a coach to be the hugger of individuals who crossed the finish line. My family also has a nonprofit organization, The S.O.L.O. Center ( Supporting Overcoming Lifes Obstacles), where we assist Title 1 school-age students and families with school supplies and college scholarships. Three months ago, we assisted in hosting a special needs Prom where we had 22 guests and 21 families in attendance at Covington Georgia Elks Lodge # 1806 and had a great time.
I am passionate about speaking and sharing knowledge about Hodgkins Lymphoma with others in my position. I will talk about how this disease attacked my body and how I battled daily to survive to beat cancer.
Let me take a moment to thank everyone who encouraged me during this fight, I appreciate all the prayers and well wishes.
