Let's Fight with Erika
Yesterday morning while most of us were driving to work, to school, to the gym, and to our homes, we were delayed due to a horrible accident on Highway 27 N. in Haines City/Davenport. In that moment some were upset as they had somewhere to be, some were anxious to know what laid ahead, some took a moment to pray, and some even gave up and turned back.
Little did we all know, it was our very own precious Erika Carranza, who stopped us during our busy Friday morning commute. Erika was driving home in the early hours on Friday morning, when her car and a semi trailer collided. It left her car unrecognizable and left Erika in the biggest fight of her life.
For all of you who know Erika, know what an amazing person she is. She is a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a runner, an employee, and most importantly she's a fighter. She's one of the strongest people I know and as she lay in that hospital bed with a broken ankle, wrist, ribs, and internal bleeding in her head and abdomen she's fighting. Fighting to come back to the face of her sweet 8 year old daughter Nana, to embrace her, protect her, and to love her. Fighting to come back to her Mother and her Father. Fighting to hug her brother once again. Fighting to finish just one more marathon!
This will be the biggest fight of her life. Let's fight with her! Prayer warriors let us pray for Erika. Let us win this battle together.
During these hard times medical bills and other unexpected expenses will pile up. Let us help relieve her parents from this financial burden so that they may fight with Erika from her bedside, with one less worry on their already broken hearts. No amount given is too small as long as it comes from your heart. Thank all of you wonderful people for your generosity during this tragic time.
