Eine Initiative und Kunstprojekt für das (Über-)Leben mit Brustkrebs.

Im Juli konnten wir endlich die geplante Ausstellung nachholen. Ein paar Impressionen vom Aufbau findet Ihr hier und mehr auf unserer Website oder Social Media Kanälen.

Das Leben mit und nach dem Krebs ist möglich – und lebenswert! Und wir möchten das zeigen. Wir haben Marjorieth kennengelernt, die an Brustkrebs erkrankt ist. Und sie sagt: Ja, ich habe Krebs, und ich habe ihn überlebt. Ich lebe mein Leben nach dem Krebs. Und zwar nicht, wie der Krebs es möchte, sondern wie ich es will!

Brustkrebs verändert alles.
Die Diagnose ist für die Betroffenen und ihre Familien und Freunde immer ein Schlag. Und auch nach der Diagnose und einer erfolgreichen Behandlung müssen sie mit Nebenwirkungen rechnen. So leiden circa 40 % der Betroffenen nach einer erfolgreichen Behandlung unter depressiven Episoden. 10 % davon entwickeln sogar eine schwerwiegende Depression. Patienten, die Krebs überlebt haben, leiden unter der ständigen Angst, erneut zu erkranken. Dem wollen wir entgegen wirken mit:

Im Januar 2019 entstanden die ersten Portraits von Marjorieth. Ihre Einstellung, ihre Schönheit und ihr Lebenswille hat begeistert. Mit ihr zusammen haben wir die Idee entwickelt, weiteren Protagonisten die Möglichkeit zu geben, ihre Geschichte zu erzählen und sich selbst zu entdecken. Ihnen ein Geschenk zu machen und Ihre Schönheit und Würde in Bildern festzuhalten.

Christian, dem der Krebs gezeigt hat, worauf es wirklich ankommt und der seine Zeit mit seinen Kindern nun intensiver als je zuvor genießt.

Ebru, die trotz ihrer aggressiven Krebsart nie das Kämpfen aufgegeben hat.

Elena, die sich auf ihren Krebs vorbereiten konnte und ihren Weg gefunden hat, mit der Krankheit umzugehen.

Meike, für die Aufgeben nie eine Option war und die eine treue Seele an ihrer Seite hatte. 

Die Geschichten in die Welt tragen: Die erste Ausstellung!
Aus dem vorhandenen Material planen wir nun eine Ausstellung, begleitet von einer eigens entwickelten Website und Social Media Aktivitäten, um die Geschichten in die Welt zu tragen. Die erste Ausstellung fand vom 3-5. Juli 2020 in Düsseldorf statt.

Das Projekt soll als Wanderausstellung an möglichst vielen Orten die Geschichten unserer ProtagonistInnen erzählen. Und dafür brauchen wir Eure Hilfe! Denn die Produktion der Bilder, des Ausstellungskatalogs und die notwendigen Werbemaßnahmen können wir alleine nicht bewältigen – wir benötigen Eure finanzielle Unterstützung! 

Helft uns dabei, die Vision lebendig werden zu lassen!
 
Die Geschichte von noch mehr Menschen erzählen.
Fünf sind nicht genug! Wir möchten weitermachen – weiter fotografieren und möglichst viele Betroffene und Ihre Art, mit dem Krebs klarzukommen, zeigen. Damit helfen wir nicht nur den Portraitierten, ihre Geschichte zu erzählen und damit abzuschließen, sondern machen Menschen, die sich in einer ähnlichen Situation befinden, Mut nicht aufzugeben und eine Perspektive zu entwickeln.

FUCK IT – I’M ALIVE!
is an initiative and art project about living and outliving breast cancer.

Life with and after cancer is not only feasible – but worth pursuing. That’s what we want to show! We got to know Marjorieth who had breast cancer. “Yes” she says, “I had cancer and I survived. And I’m very much alive now – not the way my cancer wants, but the way I want to be!”

Breast cancer changes everything
The diagnosis is always a blow to the individual and also to family and friends. Even after diagnosis and successful treatment, side effects are to be expected. About 40 percent of those affected suffer from periods of depression after successful treatment while some 10 percent develop severe depression. Patients who have survived cancer encounter the constant fear of falling ill again. We want to help counteract this with:

The first portraits of Marjorieth were made in January 2019. Her attitude, her beauty and her will to live were inspiring. Together we developed the idea of giving other people the opportunity to tell their story and rediscover themselves through photos where their beauty and dignity were to be captured.

Christian whose cancer has shown him what really counts and who now enjoys time spent with his children more than ever before.

Ebru who has never given up her struggle despite an aggressive cancer.

Elena who was able to prepare for cancer and found her way to deal with it.

Meike who was never going to give up and who has a faithful soul at her side. 

Telling the world these stories: The first exhibition
We are now planning an exhibition from the available material, accompanied by a dedicated developed website and social media activities to convey the stories to the world. This first exhibition took place from 3-5 July 2020 in Düsseldorf.

The project will continue as a travelling exhibition that will tell our characters’ stories in as many locations as possible. And this is why we need your help! We are unable to print the photos, the exhibition catalogue and produce necessary advertising measures by ourselves – we need financial support!

Please help us to make this vision come alive!

Telling the story of even more people
5 are not enough! We would like to progress, by taking new photos and showing as many affected people as possible and how they cope with cancer. By doing so we will not only help those portrayed tell their story and come to terms with it, but also to encourage others who themselves are in a similar situation not to give up and to develop a new perspective.
