FILCASA Summit

Hi! My name is Nicole De Grano and I am raising funds on behalf of the Filipino Canadian Students' Association (FILCASA). These funds will help in executing the FILCASA Summit, a three-day event held in Toronto, Ontario, from June 9 to 11, 2023. It aims to unite, celebrate, and transform Filipino community leaders from colleges and universities from coast to coast. It will involve three events: the Networking Gala, the 26th SUPERSKILLZ, and the FSA Symposium.

The Networking Gala is our unique way to kick off the Summit weekend! Filipinos from coast to coast from different walks of life, including industry professionals, community leaders, and youth, to build and further the Filipino connection across the country.

SUPERSKILLZ is an annual cultural showcase that promotes the talent and skills of Filipino/a/xs across Canada, established in 1997 by the Filipino student associations at the University of Toronto and York University. Ever since the inception of FILCASA, the show has continued to expand its horizons every year. It has adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic to become a hybrid event committed to being accessible both in-person and online. Throughout the showcase, we will also be presenting the FILCASA Awards where we highlight the excellence of individuals and groups for their work aligning itself with our mandate.

The FSA (Filipino Student Association) Symposium gives all Filipino youth leaders a voice and space to speak about the issues affecting them. Through an intergenerational panel of Filipino student leaders and workshops, the Symposium inspires attendees to make waves in their respective communities.

This would be a ground-breaking event for the Filipino community, as it not only celebrates the Filipino Canadian identity, but it also creates the space for Filipino Canadians to interact with each other. There is no event like the FILCASA Summit, as it encourages people to interact with the Filipino culture as they engage in the conference's activities. It creates connections, showcases talent, and sparks creativity regarding cultural experiences, and this collaborative experience will bring the nation closer together.
