Fill Saint Joseph with Heart Rock Reminders
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Tom, a motivational speaker and stone sculptor.
I participated in an assembly with Saint Joseph Catholic High School students on Sept. 12th, and we discussed using a heart-shaped rock as a tool for compassion and suicide prevention.
The concept is simple. Students may keep their heart rock for as long as they need a reminder that they matter, are seen, loved, wanted, etc. When the truth of that message truly sinks in, they know they are ready to give the heart rock away.
They'll keep the heart rock with them and begin looking for someone who needs a reminder that they matter, are seen, loved, wanted, etc. They'll approach the person, show them the heart rock, explain its meaning, and finally give them the heart rock to serve as their reminder that they matter.
These heart rocks will trickle through the school and into students' families and community. Each heart rock will be given with a personalized message that the recipient matters.
---
As the sculptor, I donated 50 heart rocks to the school, and the school purchased enough for every student to have one. I will provide more heart rocks to the school at my cost to make them ($2.50 per heart).
This GoFundMe campaign will give Saint Joseph students additional heart rocks to distribute in their families and community. Every single heart rock will give a student the opportunity to remind someone that they matter.
Biweekly, I will mail or personally deliver to the school's wellness center the heart rocks funded by this campaign*.

Please consider donating so Saint Joseph students can have a heart rock to use as a tool for self-compassion, compassion, and suicide prevention. The more tools, the better.
Take heart,
Tom Ballard
(*I reserve the right to negotiate the heart rock delivery timeline with the school counselors and administrators if this campaign grows extraordinarily quickly.)
