Film Industry Feeds The Front Line
Donation protected
The film industry normally employs mobile kitchen trucks to feed people on location, these are now idle. We will bring the truck and staff to the hospital parking lot to provide the food to take away.
Concept: Provide a free cooked meal to health care workers to pick up and take home after a long day of work. We would save them the time and energy needed to prepare their own food.
Cost: There is no cost to the hospital. The funds for labor and food would be provided by individual donations and contributions from the film industry.
Assistance: The Hospital would only need to provide a location for the truck to park. The trucks are equipped with their own gas and electricity and can be located anywhere.
Staff: A chef and 1 helper to prepare and distribute up to 500 meals to go during a 10 hr period.
Safety: The kitchen staff would stay inside the truck. PPEs would be provided for anyone working on the truck. The meals would be: put in a to-go container; wrapped in plastic wrap and placed on a table outside with a set of plastic utensils.
How will the money be spent?
Labor and food will cost approximately 10 dollars per meal. Therefore, a donation a $10 would help create one meal. A donation of $100 would create 10 meals and a donation of $1000 would create 100 meals.
An army marches on its stomach. To be effective, an army relies on good and plentiful food. Today our army of health care workers are fighting a battle against an invisible enemy (COVID-19).
