PROBLEMS BREATHING
August 30th, I began to noticed what I thought was post nasal drip and was having difficulty breathing.
October 8th and 9th, I was having difficulty substitute teaching because every step I took, I was out of breath. I told my students I was having a bronchitis attack. But that wasn't it.
October 11th, I went with my family on a long planned trip to Ashville, NC to visit my cousin. He had stairs in his apartment. Every time I took the stairs, I lost my breath, couldn't breath, I had to sit down, not panic and try to find my breath. My family said go to emergency, but I said I would wait until I returned home.
October 15th, I went to Williamsburg county emergency clinic, with the complaint of difficulty breathing. They diagnosed that I had Pleura Effusion (water around the lungs). Not post nasal drip or bronchitis. I was to be exported immediately to MUSC FLORENCE, SOUTH CAROLINA. I refused the transport. I told the doctor I was caring for my 80 year old mother and I have to arrange for her care before I left.
October 16th, I took my mother to her sister's house in Florence, and I check into emergency.
I stayed for 6 days taking an array of test. The first procedure was to drain the fluid off my lung to get me breathing. That is a painful procedure that inserts a draining catheter from you back, between your ribs. There was a 1/2 of a litter drained from my lungs that day.
A pleura effusion is the result of something else. I was tested to see if I had Congestive Heart Failure. Or, possibly lung cancer. Praise the Lord, neither was the case, but that left the mystery. I was released only to return to emergency , 5 day later to drain 2 1/2 litters of fluid off of both lungs.
November 4th, after a PET AND CT scan. there was some activities with my ovaries. I return to the Pulmonologist on November 8th to get a permanent PleurX catheter placed in my back so that I can self-drain. While, the team of obgyn, cartologist, try to figure out what is happening.
My California insurance was terminated with the death of my fiancé on November 11, 2019. So, I had no insurance to cover my cost. I was put on charity, and that gave me a discount on my bill.
I am asking for anything donation that can help to cover my emergency bill of $67,693.55, to date. I have insurance that cover 2 outpatient procedures and visits. %50 of in hospital after $5000 deductible. I am so afraid that I will be denied the treatment I need to save my life if I do not have kind and generous people to help me.
Me, enjoying life!
