Final Paul Willis Album: Wonderland
Donation protected
Background:
If you've ever seen me perform or heard my music, then you know that building community has been a central theme in my lyrics and performance opportunities. Whether I'm performing on street corners, in classrooms or community spaces, the people have welcomed me in their homes and I want to welcome the community into mine.
I've been writing raps since I was 12 years old and before I turn 33, I want you to know about the community I come from, the neighborhood I grew up in and the people who shaped the person I am today. I never imagined building a life outside of Boston, because the rest of the world seemed larger than I could imagine. That's why this final album is named Wonderland and every song details significant life experiences from my hometown.
The Ask:
I'd like to complete my catalog with your support! This project is the hardest thing I've done as an artist and the best music I've ever created.
I'm working with The Bap Notes, an amazing hip-hop, jazz, soul and funk band from Sacramento. Their album Share is available on all streaming platforms. You can listen here: https://open.spotify.com/album/2hRHRzqpsoN86wFLUSXPLh
After one click, you'll understand that they're some of the best musicians and I'm getting an amazing team to produce the best music in my catalog. Quality costs.
The money breaks down like this:
$1800 - ownership of 9 instrumentals, produced by The Bap Notes
$1200 - recording, mixing and mastering sessions (for vocals and live band)
$500 - First 100 physical copies + 100 legacy posters
What you get:
If you donate to this campaign, you'll get a digital download of the album.
If you donate $30 or more, you'll get a physical copy, the discography and a legacy poster.
Thank you for believing in me and my music! It's time to close this chapter in my story and I'm excited to have you celebrate new endings and new beginnings with me.
Much love and respect,
Paul Willis
