Final expenses for Myrna Lugo
As most of our family and friends know our mother Myrna Lugo suffered two major strokes this past week. Her journey has not been easy. She has had type 1 diabetes her entire life. She is a cancer survivor, and a double amputee. She battled an amputation site infection for nearly 7 months, then went septic and needed even more surgery, but she fought hard and beat it. Despite her struggles she was always willing to help anyone who needed it. She would give the clothes off her back and the last of her food if you needed it. She loved to cook for her friends and family. To drink a cup of coffee and talk at her table. She loved to talk and could make friends with anyone. She loved babies and was always ready to volunteer to knit a baby set for anyone. She never once lead on that she was not feeling well, instead hiding it as to not worry others. She checked in on everyone even when she was in the hospital herself. She touched many with her words and sincerity. There aren’t enough words to describe her and the light she brought.
On Tuesday April 13, 2021 our mother was able to walk with her new prosthetics. She was able to walk for the first time in so long. She was able to take 10 feet forward and 10 feet back before she had a stroke. It was a moment she had waited so long for. She suffered the second stroke in the hospital and it damaged 75% of her brain. Due to pressure and swelling in her brain she is still deteriorating. There is no chance of survival for her currently. We have transitioned her into hospice care where she is being kept comfortable in her last hours. This news was sudden for us all and unfortunately there were no plans or insurance in place to cover her end of life care and funeral arrangements.
In her coming passing we are asking our friends and family for support and assistance while we try to prepare for the loss of our mother.
