In Loving Memory of Dr. William F. Pepper - Seeking Support for Funeral and Burial Costs.
Dear friends and community,
My name is Mina Nguyen-Pepper, and with a heavy heart, I share the news of my beloved husband, Dr. William F. Pepper's, passing on April 7th. Our 13-year-old daughter, Lilly, and I are deeply saddened by his loss.
William F. Pepper's Obituary on the New York Times.
Dr. Pepper's dedication extended far beyond our family. He was a relentless pursuer of truth, particularly in the case of his friend and fellow activist, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. Decades after the world mourned Dr. King's death, William, a tenacious lawyer, embarked on a lifelong mission to uncover the complete story. Dr. Pepper refused to accept a simple narrative for such a monumental loss. He believed there was more to the story – that silenced voices and unanswered questions remained. His meticulous investigations unearthed inconsistencies and led him to argue for a much more complex truth, one that challenged the accepted narrative. His book "An Act of State" has been translated into French, German, Spanish, and Chinese.
Their paths crossed in 1967, when Dr. King, inspired by Dr. Pepper's powerful photo essay exposing the horrors of the Vietnam War, reached out to him. A shared vision for justice blossomed, and Dr. Pepper became a confidante and advocate for Dr. King's fight against both racial injustice in the U.S. and the war in Vietnam. They were friends and collaborators in the last year of Dr. King's life.

Dr. Pepper was a tireless advocate for truth and justice. He championed those who questioned the official story, ensuring that Dr. King's fight for a just world continued to inspire.
During this difficult time, we are reaching out for your support to cover the costs of a decent funeral and Dr. Pepper's final resting place. Any contribution you can make would be deeply appreciated.
We will use the contributed money for funeral ($6,449.75) and to purchase his burial plot ($23,800) at Woodlawn in New York. Being buried in the same cemetery as his parents was his final wish.
Please help us into ensure William Pepper rests peacefully and easily.
Thank you for your kindness and understanding.
Sincerely,
Mina Nguyen-Pepper and Lilly Pepper
