Final Semester Crisis Relief Fund

Hello.. My name is Morgan. I'm a 35yr old divorced full time student at Florida State Univerity majoring in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic. I serve as a board member for two student organizations, and am a human rights and social justice activist and feminist working with advocacy groups supporting Palestinian human rights, the Islamic community, Women's March, Black Lives Matter, and the LGBTQ+ community.  I'm also a devoted mother to three sweet cats. I am however, dealing with a very personally critical situation right now.

Before I get into the details of the crisis for which I'm asking help, I'll give you a brief backstory which I hope will provide a better understanding of my situation.

I began my full time college career in 2000 seeking my AA degree. I had to put my education on hold 3/4 through my sophomore year however, when debilitating symptoms of what would later (many years later) be diagnosed as fibromyalgia took over my life, forcing me to put everything aside. It would be a full 12 years (including a marriage and divorce) later before I was once again in a positon to return to finish my degree.

Despite being very financially strapped, I've spent the last 3 years working my way, every semester without a break, towards the BA degree I've waited over a decade to complete. Unfortunately I've never been approved for much through financial aid as I'd earned a steady income as a store manager for 8 years, and that greatly affected loan and grant rewards. I'm also unable to recieve bank loans due to my ex husband absolutely destroying my credit during our 5 year marriage.

Until this semester, I'd been under the impression that I would be graduating in April. Unfortunately due to many people at the university messing up, advisors giving me both misinformation, and neglecting to provide necessary information, I will have to attend 12 more hours over the summer in order to graduate this year. I wasn't prepared for this.

Which brings us to the current crisis. I'd hoped that the funds I had would get me through this semester, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. As my financial aid awards recently ran dry, I'm currently surviving on $118 a week from my part time job, but that doesn't pay the bills, which are due now. I'm also facing the burden of summer semester, my last, which I obviously can''t afford.  The immediate issue is that my rent is due tomorrow, I'll be looking at an eviction notice in 10 days. I will lose my phone shortly, and my car in there as well. within the next month I will have to sell everything I own in order to survive through to August when, God willing, I'll be graduating.

This has been a very difficult reality to accept, and one which was revealed to me only a month ago. I'm about to lose everything in pursuit of my degree...  So I'm asking for help. Please, if you feel this is something you'd be able to help with, I'd be eternally grateful for any contribution. If you're unable to donate (I know what it's like... trust me), then prayers are appreciated.

Thank you, and God bless.
