Financial Assistance for a Russian Refugee Family

My name is Ann Leeper and we are asking for assistance in raising money to help the Russian refugee family we are assisting on their journey as new citizens of the United States.

Kseniia, Oleg and their four-year-old son Artem arrived in the United States just before Christmas a month ago. They were forced to flee Russia after having been documented attending anti-war rallies in their small town in Siberia, Russia.

When they realized their photos had been taken and they were going to be arrested, they fled to the US. My husband Chris met Oleg when he worked in Russia, and because we were their only contact in the US, they asked if they could come to Reno. We welcomed them with open arms and have had SO many clothing and toy donations and requests to help ever since, and we are finally at a point that we need that help!

After navigating endless paperwork and bureaucracy, we finally have a vehicle, bank accounts and an apartment for them.

We are asking for help funding some of their rent and all the necessities for an apartment for them. Beds, utensils, soap, everything you can imagine in your home they will need in theirs as they arrived here with nothing. Along with the costs of a home, we would like to alleviate their worries about making rent and help them cover legal fees for their required attorney to navigate the political asylum process. The legal fees are much larger than someone who is worried about buying food will ever be able to cover. We appreciate any and all help offered!
