Financial Crisis due to Chronic Illness

Hi there,

Im Shu (21). I live in the UK with my partner and our 2 bunnies Reggie and Dango.

So ill try to keep this as brief as i can; because its alot of information to take in.

Im a "Self Employed" 3D character developer. I say Self employed in quotations, because I don't currently work at all.

My business is focused towards the selling of products for players in the Virtual Reality community, to use as customisation for their "avatars" or self. For my non-gamers, think self expression. Cute hair, clothes, new earrings (etc).

Now, i love Virtual reality (VR). Im chronically ill, i have been practically my entire life. My partner is my full time carer, and often enough i go weeks on end without being able to do so much as put clothes on myself. VR gives me a way to make even £10 on the side to help me feel like im doing something to help with the bills. And it also gives me a means of expression, socialisation and freedom from the confines of my bed.

To briefly explain my condition, my brain does not communicate with my nervous system properly. Sometimes, i "function" perfectly fine. But other days, it could be drastically worse and i cant walk at all.

Generally, i live in constant agony. Even on what we consider to be a "good" day, I am struggling to sit comfortably, drink water without pain, or get a good nights rest. My Brain is always on high alert, reading every sensation as painful. It also means i get sick very often, suffering from consistant daily migraines, fevers and sweats.

A year ago i started getting alot worse. This has taken a tole on myself and my partner financially, and we have gone quite substantially into debt by £6000.

We cannot pay this off on our own. My partner doesnt have enough hours in a week to work more for us, and I cant make any money in my current state.

To make matters worse, about 2 weeks ago my VR Broke, and my computer (PC) has broken down.

This means i no longer have a way of working when i am able to. I also cannot access VR to sell products, advertise products, socialise.. Essentially im stuck in the mud with no way to promote, grow or gain income. And im incredibly isolated.

Donations would go towards 3 things.

1) Paying off our Debt.

2) Getting me a New VR Headset.

3) Getting me replacement PC parts.

I understand that some peoples concept of an emergency is different to others. But with how severely our debt is, we are barely able to pay rent, with no money left for buses to the hospital for regular treatments or medications. Im not dying by any means, but this money would honestly change our lives, especially mine.

The debt is our priority. But having the PC and VR would greatly increase my quality of life again, and help me be able to feel productive and be able to work what little i can from my home once more.
