Financial Help for Jen Following Cancer Surgery
Donation protected
Hello ~ my name is Michelle Mack and I have organized this fundraiser on behalf of my sister, Jennifer Mack, who lives in Colorado. She recently had to have surgery to remove some of her colon and has been unable to work since the start of December. Due to medical restrictions, she will be unable to work for at least a few more weeks. She is self-employed, so there is no vacation/sick pay or FMLA to lean on, and like we can all relate to, monthly necessities of home/rent, food, utilities, etc. add up fast, and having no income can drastically turn life upside down very quickly. This account has been set up so that all donations will go directly to her. Any and all help is so very much appreciated!

What a whirlwind the last few months have been! As most of you already know, I was diagnosed with colon cancer in October. I underwent surgery December 1st to remove a portion of my colon with the goal of removing all cancer from my body, and to hopefully find out the cancer had not spread. I ended up spending six nights in the hospital, but thankfully, I was blessed with a successful surgery and a cancer-free prognosis.
I am so very grateful for all of the love & support I’ve received over the past few months! All of the prayers, well wishes, words of encouragement, support and love I received, and continue to receive, have truly helped me face such a scary, uncertain time with strength & positivity. Thank you!!! Now, with surgery behind me and a cancer-free prognosis, I truly couldn’t feel more blessed! ❤
Unfortunately, the financial strain of not being able to work is starting to hit pretty hard. I have been completely self-employed for the past two years, unfortunately with no sick/vacation pay to take advantage of. My regular means of income requires more physical activity/exertion than post-surgery restrictions allow (for another month…6 weeks total). While I have been able to find some alternatives to bring in a little income here and there, it is not nearly enough to cover our monthly living expenses. My two teenage sons are incredibly helpful and work when possible, but are busy with school, college prep, sports and being teenagers.
Asking for help is hard. There are so many people out there who are less fortunate and have greater needs… However, with the encouragement and urging of family & friends, I am humbly and gratefully asking for any help anyone may be able to offer my sweet boys and me to get through this challenging time. All donations received will be put directly towards our monthly living expenses of rent, food, utilities, gas, car payment, etc. We are immensely appreciative and filled with gratitude for any support offered, even words of encouragement & love!
Happiest Holidays and all the best to everyone in the New Year! ❤
