Hello,
My name is Liz. I am a 60 year old woman who was diagnosed with End Stage Liver Disease (NASH). I am currently receiving medicaid; but make over the household income limit once the COVID moratorium has been lifted, which could be at anytime in the State of Louisiana.
I am still grieving the loss of my son who past away in April of 2020 and his body was abandoned outside of an apartment building. At that time, I was unable to give him a proper funeral because of COVID. I had to put my poodle of 15 years to sleep in February of 2020, and a drunk driver hit my house in June of 2020.
There have been so many, many trials and tribulations, hospital stays, and days where I am unable to even get out of bed as my health continues to decline. I have been called to New Orleans four times as a back up recipient since being placed on The Organ Transplant List but as of yet too no avail. My transplant requires that after my release, which will be determined based on my healing process, I am required to stay at a recovery center for an undetermined amount of time in New Orleans. I will be responsible for two households--one in Baton Rouge and the recovery apartment in New Orleans. I will feel very blessed if you could offer some support to ease my stress over financial hardships and allow me to focus on healing. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
