Financial help for Stage 3 Advanced Breast Cancer

Hi, my name is Missy and I’m asking for your help. In April, I found a fairly large lump in my breast. I tried not to worry, but I was immediately told I had breast cancer with extensive underarm/lymph node involvement after my mammogram and ultrasound. Things moved quickly and within 2 days I had biopsies done and DNA testing. My cancer is advanced and aggressive and the plan is 16 rounds of 3 different chemotherapies followed by a double mastectomy, radiation and finally reconstruction. I’ve had many other tests and the PET scan revealed that my cancer has already spread to the lymph nodes in my neck and my shoulder/collarbone area as well as pressing on my trachea. Because of this treatment needs to being ASAP. I’m now aggressive, advanced Stage 3. Monday I will have surgery to have my port placed and my first round of chemo will be Wednesday. While I am fortunate to have recently gotten health insurance, it doesn’t cover everything such as out of pocket costs/deductibles/co-pays. Each time I have an appointment and believe me, there have already been a ton, if Steve, my fiancé has to take me, he misses work. If he misses work, he doesn’t get paid. Any and all help is greatly appreciated to lessen the stress and burden with our monthly bills, extra gas to and from appointments, medications, co-pays, as well as all the things necessary for chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and recovery. I will do my best to post frequent updates here for those interested in following along on this long and bumpy ride.
