Financial help with Derrick Hunt's Recovery

This account has been created for my Sister Ashlee and Brother-In-law Derrick Hunt.

On the morning of 11-2-2021, Derrick was involved in a terrible accident involving one of the horses. By the grace of God, he was able to call Ashlee as she had just left the house for work and rushed back home to find him. He was rushed by EMS to McLaren for head and neck trauma, and shortly after, transferred to the trauma team at St. Joe's. At this time we know he has a fractured neck, multiple broken facial bones, broken orbital socket and excessive swelling. Derrick will most likely be undergoing facial reconstructive surgery, but the swelling needs to come down before the official decision can be made.

At this time, the family is unsure what the time frame of surgery, release date, recovery time, etc will be, but we do know a minimum of 6 months with the neck fracture and facial injustices he sustained along with physical therapy.

As many know people know, Derrick and Ashlee run a ranch that has many horses, including 17 rescue horses whom are residents of Undivided Ranch. Derrick will not be able to work for quite some time. Although Ashlee is working full time, she cannot handle all the bills and maintain feeding all the horses on just her income while Derrick recovers from the injuries he has sustained. This GoFund me is being set up in hopes of being able to help keep the bills paid, and all the horses fed during this time. With winter upon us, the horses will require more hay and that means added costs. For the winter months Nov-March the horses will need 1500 bales of hay and the cost will be $9,000.00

If we could get 17 sponsors to sponsor a horse for the winter, that would be $530 per sponsor and that would eliminate the cost of feeding the horses during the recovery time. That would take a huge financial impact off their shoulders and allow Derrick and Ashlee to focus on his recovery to properly heal and resume his passion.

If you are able to help in any way, please do so and help alleviate some of the financial burden they will occur. Along with needing donations, they need all the prayers they can on Derrick making a full recovery. We all know how powerful prayer can be, so please send as many prayers as we possibly can get and help him on his road to recovery!
