Financial Support for Destiny’s Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Our beautiul, lovely, quick-witted and caring Destiny has been diagnosed with stage IV Metastatic Ovarian Cancer. Destiny's cheerful energy and sense of humor are truly captivating. To know her is to love her. At 27 years old, Destiny has experienced multiple reactions to modern medicine that her body has reacted negatively to. Destiny has decided that an alternative approach with conventional treatment added as needed is her best option moving forward with the history of her immunity responses and the current diagnosis.
At 22, Destiny began a career in the medical field at Watauga Medical Center before becoming a 911 Telecommunicator in the Communications Center at Watauga County Emergency Services and Boone Police Department. Her professional life has continually been centered around compassion and helping others, and now due to the diagnosis and increasing symptoms of her Cancer, Destiny cannot work. Although she has love and support from many, we need help raising money for her Cancer treatment, medical bills, living bills, unforeseen expenses, etc.
Destiny has chosen to seek care at Envita, an outpatient medical center in Scottsdale, Arizona. Envita is an advanced integrative facility using conventional and cancer adjunctive naturopathic treatments. Insurance companies typically only cover standardized treatments, which unfortunately fail to yield the results we want for Destiny. Because of the shortcomings of Destiny's diagnosis, we want her to have the opportunity to receive a holistic approach. For about 8 to 12 weeks of treatment at Envita, Destiny could see costs anywhere from $40,000 to $120,000.
She has a hard battle ahead. On top of medical stresses, she will have travel, lodging, day-to-day life, current bills and unforeseen expenses to cover. Please donate any amount possible to help support her. Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
The family of Destiny Finley
Destiny would like to share the following,
"In 2015, at the age of 22, I was working for Watauga Medical Center as a Phlebotomist; I was required to get an annual flu shot. It was the very first vaccine I had ever received and, unknown at the time, would be the last. The "low-risk" preventative vaccine that saves lives almost took mine. I was diagnosed with nerve damage and a brachial plexus injury that turned into an extremely rare case of Parsonage-Turner syndrome (PTS). I was paralyzed on my left side for three months; I started having seizures and maybe weighed 90lbs soaking wet. Every doctor I saw said my injuries were one in a million. I always joked, "I should start playing the lottery." Since then, I have lived with the life-long effects of the flu vaccine, which have yet to subside. I am sharing my flu vaccination experience to explain one of the major reasons I am terrified to try conventional chemotherapy. If one vaccine caused a reaction like that, I cannot imagine what the poison in chemo might do to me if I lived through the first round.
So now, I come to each of you with a heavy heart; please help me get to Arizona for treatment. Any amount of donation helps, and I am so thankful to all of you. At the very least, thank you for taking the time to read my story.
-Destiny"
