Tragic Loss of Christina Castillo

In the early hours of January 16, our dearest Christina was suddenly and tragically taken from us. She was bigger than life and her heart simply couldn’t keep up with her any longer.

Christina was generous, kind and full of energy. She was tough as nails and lived on her own terms. Her laughter was infectious and she never took herself too seriously. She had family and friends across many cities, countries and all walks of life. 

She leaves behind a mother who lost her only daughter, 4 brothers who lost their only sister and countless friends and family members who are struggling to accept the loss. But worst of all she leaves behind 2 daughters who lost their mother and only parent. Francys and Elena were Christina’s world. She lived for and through them. They shared an unbelievable bond that was beyond words. With the help of family, Francys is now left to raise her little sister at a time when she was just starting her own adult life. Elena is only 11 years old and terrified of a future without her mother- her best friend and biggest support.

Our goal is to fundraise in her mother’s name so we can help Francys and provide Elena with some financial support as she adjusts to her new reality but also as she goes through the many milestones she has ahead of her, such as high school graduation, post-secondary education and more.

The lives of Francys and Elena will never be the same and nothing will ever fill the void left by the loss of their mother. We only hope to ease some of the financial burden they’re facing and honor Christina’s wish to put her girls first.
