Financial support for Glenn’s road to recovery

Donation protected
My name is Nicole Demarse and I’ve known this amazing family for more than 25 years. I’ve gotten to know Glenn very well over the years and I can honestly say there is no kinder, sweeter man than him. Pure salt of the earth. He always has a smile on his face and is always thinking of others. He would do anything for anyone. He is the type of person you feel lucky to know.

Everything was fine until April 22, 2023 when Glenn wasn’t acting himself while Heather was up visiting Bonnie in the hospital. Heather lives 2 1/2 hours away and had to miss work but knew she needed to figure out what was wrong. She took him to the doctors and they ordered a MRI of his brain. Glenn’s symptoms of confusion and his short term memory loss started to progress very quickly. Once they found the tumor in his brain they scheduled surgery immediately. The family was still hopeful that maybe it wasn’t as bad as they predicted it could be. By the day of surgery, Glenn was having a hard time following simple commands. The pathology came back and the severity of Glenn’s situation was confirmed. Glenn was diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain cancer, a very aggressive type. The tumor was in the part of the brain which effects memory and concentration. They were able to resect 90% of the tumor but he will need more treatments in the coming months. He’s out of the hospital and at home now recovering. He’s getting around pretty well but his memory has definitely been effected and he’s having a hard time getting comfortable. He’ll be starting PT, OT and speech therapy on Monday. The next steps for treatments will be radiation and chemotherapy to try and kill the remaining cancer and keep it from coming back. He has a long, difficult road to recovery but thankfully he has his family helping him through. His daughter Heather and wife Bonnie haven’t left his side and will continue to be there through this difficult journey. Heather and Glenn share a very special bond. She already has him doing all the things he loves to do like playing skipbo and puzzles. She has taken a leave of absence from her job to help Bonnie take care of him and get him to all of his upcoming appointments.

I know how hard these next few months are going to be for this family and the last thing they need to be worried about is bills and expenses of traveling to doctor appointments out of town as they add up fast. I feel helpless, like many at this time and this platform is a way of helping this incredible family in their time of need.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Heather also has a Venmo if you prefer, @Heather-Jadwick. Prayers and positive healing thoughts are also very much appreciated! Thank you all! God bless❤️
