Financial support for Jon & Kelli Trapp
Jon and Kelli Trapp are a typical Wood River Valley family: hardworking and full of life. Jon worked in the kitchen at Cristina’s in Ketchum where he has been a chef for the last 8 years. Kelli is the Administrative Assistant for Streets & Facilities and helps keep Ketchum’s streets crews working hard. Together they are raising their daughter who is entering her senior year of high school at Wood River High.
Jon, 46, went to St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center on July 2 after experiencing a severe headache for several weeks. A CT scan showed a large tumor in the right parietal lobe of his brain. After being rushed to St. Luke’s in Boise by ambulance (they couldn’t life flight him as they thought the altitude would cause a seizure), he had a craniotomy performed. Unfortunately, the neurosurgeon was not able to remove all of the tumor. The pathology reports unfortunately came back with the results that Dr. Harrison had feared: the tumor is a Glioblastoma Grade 4. Sadly, it is the deadliest and most aggressive form of cancer and there is no cure.
Since moving here from Louisiana, Jon, Kelli and their daughter have made this valley their home working extra hard to help many in need and contribute to this community that has given them such joy. With medical costs accumulating and the loss of Jon’s income, this diagnosis has had a severe financial impact on the family already. Things will get worse if the doctor’s fears are realized and Jon succumbs to his tumor.
Please support Jon & Kelli as they come together to save their family and home. Every little bit helps!
