On January 28, 2021, we lost Anthony Joseph Nero Jr. unexpectedly. Affectionately known as Tony to all who knew and loved him. A loving Son, Brother, Step-Dad, and Husband. We are heartbroken, devastated, and in disbelief. Tony was loved by all who knew him and positively impacted the lives of those around him.
Tony was a loving, caring, big-hearted individual. He was honest, loyal, genuine, and humorous. A man who prioritized his family and wanted the best for them. A sports enthusiast, dog lover, car aficionado who loved travelling, road trips, family-gatherings and parties, cooking, a good cigar and adding the freshest pair of sneakers to his ever-growing collection. Passionate about fixing and building things, Tony was always the first person people sought out for help and advice with house and car related issues and home improvement. He was always quick to offer his help, and as a perfectionist, executed the work with excellence. He eventually turned his skills into a business and started working for himself as a handyman. Tony was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2008, a neurodegenerative disease which he coped and battled with onward. Towards the recent years before this tragic loss, He humbly accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 2019 and started his spiritual journey.
Tony and Anila met and fell in love in 2007, he loved her until the very end of his life. He took the best care of her, always anticipated and intuitively knew of her needs ahead of her expressing them. They lived a life of laughter and faced life's challenges together.
Tony entered Ryan's life when Ryan was 4 years of age. He happily and enthusiastically took on the role of Step-Dad. He loved watching Ryan grow. Always standing in the crowd cheering Ryan on at multiple sports games and meets. Tony consistently expressed to Ryan how excited he was to see him turn into a young man and of the bright future that lies ahead of him.
In the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Anila was furloughed from work and has been on Unemployment since April 2020. The affects of which have caused heavy financial challenges and have made family and household expenses difficult to meet and manage. We never expected we would be planning Tony's funeral at this moment in time. We deeply desire to give Tony the funeral an individual like him deserves. His life deserves to be remembered and celebrated because he was in too much pain and suffering to celebrate and understand the value of his own life and the life before him. Many of you have asked how you can help, we have created this campaign to raise funds for financial assistance towards the financial strain we find ourselves in affected by and amidst Tony's untimely passing. We are deeply grateful of your generosity as we navigate this devastating moment and get our feet on the ground. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
