Financial Literacy in the Classroom
Donation protected
Financially CLEAN is a 501(c)(3)non-profit financial literacy program designed to educate youth on how to manage, grow and protect their money in a fun and interactive way, through classroom lessons, workshops and web seminars.
According to a 2014 study by JumpStart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy , 95% of high school seniors and 75% of graduating college students in the United States are financially illiterate.
Shaun and I co-founded the organization a year and half ago to fill this void in the school curriculum and give kids the head start we didn't have, particularly in underesourced areas.
Our mission is to help youth develop financial discipline and awareness in order to create generational wealth for themselves, their families and communities for years to come.
Our ultimate goal is to see that every child is taught core financial principles in school by the age of 18 before they apply for their first credit card.
We've reached over 500 kids so far.
To meet the immedidate demand for our program we need your help. In January 2017 alone we have 2 high schools and 1 at-risk youth organization --a total of 250 students who want our services in New York. Your donations would help hire instructors, provide workbooks, guest speakers, graduation certificates and gifts to the students. We have lots of volunteers who want to come on board but do not have a space to train them. To date, our program has been self-funded but we can no longer do it on our own.
Your partnership with CLEAN is the solution to the financial illiteracy crisis we face in this country. With your support, we can raise awareness and eradicate issues like poor credit, rising debt levels and early bankruptcy filings by providing our youth with the financial tools for success.
We can't thank you enough. --Dionne & Shaun
