Help fund a new assisted walking device.

Hi, my name is Rhian. In January 2021 I had a hemorrhagic stroke and then a craniotomy to remove an AVM (arteriovenous malformation) in my brain. While the surgery was successful and the AVM was fully removed, the surgery left me completely paralyzed on the left side of my body. After rigorous and frequent Physio for the last 18 months, I have regained mobility and strength on my upper body but left foot and leg remain paralyzed.

I have been using a AFO (ankle and foot orthotic) for the past year and a half but it has begun to restrict my progress. There is a device called a Bioness that will replicate the support of the AFO while also providing nerve stimulation. This device costs $8,500 plus tax and isn’t covered by my insurance providers. 

Your help will allow me to make greater strides (literally & figuratively), improve my physical rehab, and gain more confidence and independence.
