Jackson "Jax" Ramirez is a 7 year old who loves hard, lives happily and leads by example. He is precocious, inquisitive, and loves to love. He is the best friend to his younger brother, Lincoln. In November 2017, right before our trip to the tree farm, Jax's breathing became labored, and an ambulance ride and 7 day PICU stay determined Jax was in severe DKA and diagnosed with Type 1. With mama bear suspicion, many specialists and many questions unanswered, this family pushed for the 'why'. In October 2021, it was determined Jax has a serious genetic disorder called IPEX. IPEX is a super autoimmune bug, targeting different systems and different organs. Without a bone marrow transplant, childrens are unable to grow and thrive. For a family, this is life changing, devastating, earth shattering news.

The road ahead of us is unknown, and scary. We are hopeful for Jax's future if a bone marrow match is identified. Unfortunately, Jax's brother is not a perfect match, thus we have to rely on the love and strength of others to save our baby! Please consider becoming a stem cell donor.
