Find Kelli a Furever Home!

This beautiful velvet hippo is currently living in a shed in local Jo Daviess County. Abandoned by her owner due to their own personal struggles, she has been left alone to live in the shed in her own waste. Her life hasn't been the easiest. Found on the streets of Chicago in rough shape (likely used as a bait dog), she was taken in and cared for by her previous owner for several years. Her personality shows just how much she was loved. She wags her tail so hard when greeting you, she tends to fall right over! Unfortunately, some situations in life that were no fault of her own, led her to where she is today. She deserves as much love as she gives. Despite all of her struggles, she greets me with that big goofy smile, smothered in kisses and ready for her daily walk. Lately, she has been shutting down. Not as willing to go to the shed after our walks. Not as eager for her treats as I head out the door. Losing some brightness in her eyes. My goal with this fundraiser, is to bring some light back in her life. I'm attempting to raise enough money for 2 months stay at a boarding and training facility to give her the best shot at life with her future family. It also covers spay, shots and possible herina surgery. Common Ground Community Rescue Network has stepped up to help find this girl a home, and any donation will help make an impact.
