Find Hit-Run Driver Who Struck Cyclist, Fled

I’m Tim Ryan from San Carlos, California, a member of the local bicycling community, an advocate for safer streets and a certified bicycle instructor. Our close knit community is working with California Highway Patrol investigators to find a motorist who rolled through a STOP SIGN and struck a bicyclist on Polhemus Road at Ascension Drive in unincorporated San Mateo, not far from the College of San Mateo. He remained on scene for a few minutes and refused to call 911 as instructed by witnesses. We believe we know the neighborhood where he lives so this has been an intensive effort from day one.
This occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, March 7, 2024 when a 62-year-old mother and local business woman was struck and tossed to the street where she suffered a fractured spine. She remains under doctor’s care, recovering at home, not far from the collision site and wishes not to have her name used.
The case number is 9330–2024–00647. The investigator is Officer Seaman, badge number 22200.
We have been following leads, including a forensic sketch from an FBI trained artist (see above). The funds used here will further our investigation, will go toward additional signage and flyers seeking tips, surveillance camera footage and hopefully a private investigator and a traffic engineering consultant who will develop plans to make this intersection safer. If enough generous and caring people - bicyclists, pedestrians, and anyone else - support this effort, hopefully we can fix or replace her badly damaged bicycle and get her out into the fresh air, exercising again.
