Waves of Recovery after Domestic Abuse

my name is Yvette Curtis. I founded Wave Wahines CIC over 5 years ago and after having had fantastic success of increasing participation in surfing for women and girls we have started working with the team at North Devon Against Domestic Abuse as we fundamentally believe in the power of the ocean in calming the mind and helping the recovery process.

Having run a 3 week pilot surf program, we have seen such a positive change in the women who have been participating. We need to make this a permanent fixture for these women and give them space, control, community and a reason to smile!
