Finding Bill
Donation protected
My husband, Bill Simmons, went missing on June 15, 2020. Police search efforts have ceased, but his body nor his vehicle have ever been found. We are now turning our focus to survey bodies of water around the Nashville area.
There have been several out-of-state organizations who have volunteered their time and equipment in the past month but we have not yet been able to do a thorough and exhaustive search for Bill. Initial scans showed several possible vehicles in the Cumberland River. We would also like to search Percy Priest Lake.
There has been a lot of interest in this case as well as the Nashville area due to its vast amount of lakes and rivers. A new movement is sweeping the area with a spotlight on finding other missing persons as well as an opportunity to clean up our waterways by removing the vehicles found under water. We have a team of volunteers committed to this vision.
I am looking to equip our search team with Sonar Equipment and Dive Gear. This is a crucial first step that would be used for recovery efforts for Bill as well as other missing persons in Middle Tennessee.
Families of the missing need closure and that’s why I am very passionate about this movement. Helping to equip this team will prevent other families from having to wait for out-of-state help, as I did. I understand how difficult it is not knowing what happened to your loved one. I’m committed to comforting other families by being able to offer water search as an option. As much as I miss Bill, I believe this has become my calling, as I do not want any one to live the nightmare I am living.
