Help Finish Strong Spread Joy: 1st Annual Bicycle Drive
As we wrap up another fun season of basketball, we’re excited to announce a special initiative to help bring happiness, freedom, and hope to children in need. This year, we’re setting a goal to purchase and donate 20 new bicycles to kids who don’t have access to this simple yet life-changing gift.
Why Bicycles?
For a child, there’s nothing quite like the thrill of riding a bike: being outdoors, independence, and the joy of going anywhere with their own two feet. A bike can be a symbol of hope, a way to build confidence, and fun.
Not every child has the privilege of owning a bike. That’s why we’ve decided to use our programming and your generosity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children who could use a little extra joy.
How You Can Help
As we run extra Charity Games for current K-3rd grade families, we’re asking for your support in raising funds to purchase new bicycles. We’re suggesting a donation of $25 per family, but of course, any amount is welcome.
Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase 20 high-quality, safe bicycles that will be donated to local children.
Why Finish Strong Cares
We are fortunate to be part of an amazing, generous community, and we want to pay it forward. Your donation will not only support this effort, but it will also show the children who receive the bikes that there are people who care about them.
Kiddles Sports, Gratitude Generation & Finish Strong Together!
Special thanks to the Shlifka family and Kiddles Sports as they will be providing brand new Trek bicycles at a discount, as well as donating 2 additional bikes. Kiddles is a third-generation owned sporting goods and bicycle store located in Lake Forest.
We would also like to thank our friends at Gratitude Generation for their involvement in fundraising and for connecting us with a special organization to support this holiday season: the Roberti Community House. Based in Waukegan, RCH provides essential community services and year-round youth support. Our donated bikes will go directly to children who depend on RCH for support and so much more.
Gratitude Generation is a local nonprofit where everyone ages 5 and up is welcome to volunteer. Volunteering and donating to "g2" means you are not just helping one nonprofit, you are making sure hundreds of other nonprofits receive the items and volunteers they need to fulfill their mission, too.
We know that when we come together as a community, there’s nothing we can’t do. Please join us and donate today, and let’s put a smile on a child’s face—one bicycle at a time. Thank you!
