Finishing Our Race With Cancer ❤

Early Feb of 2017 my son, Caleb was Diagnosed with Leukemia.. Within the first few months of his treatment we found out he had specific mutations that would make his leukemia challenging to get into remission and he would require a bone marrow transplant.
In January of 2018 we headed to Nashville, TN where we spent almost 4 months for Caleb's transplant.. Very shortly before coming back home, they found very few abnormal cells in his marrow that looked to be cancer.. When we came home in May he had another Bone marrow biopsy and it was proved that his leukemia was coming back with a vengeance.. In June he started treatment and 2 weeks into that protocol they did a bmb and found out he was having treatment failure, the leukemia actually kept rising.. So we tried another treatment, a phase 3 drug called blinatumomab which has many successes in getting kids like Caleb close to remission, once again he had treatment failure and a reaction to this drug that almost cost Caleb his life on July 13th.. We tried one more treatment after that, which was 5 days long with a combination of 2 drugs and although it brought his cancer percentage from almost 92% to 64%, furthering treatment would due more harm than good for Caleb. After very long discussions with Dr's and Caleb himself, Caleb decided he no longer wished to receive treatment and was ready to come home to his families... This is every parents worst nightmare and the next few weeks and months that lie ahead for our families will be extremely hard.. We didn't have life insurance on Caleb and never expected any of this to happen so fast.. The money raised will be used for Caleb's funeral expenses and for his head stone as his dad and I will be splitting these costs. Thank you in advance for any donations and if you're unable to donate, shares and prayers are equally appreciated.
Thank you,
Caleb's Momma (Holly)
