FROM COACH MILLA KARHU:
"Nine years ago, a group of 5-year old boys headed to a basketball gym as a fun way to spend the long long dark Finnish winters (5 hours of sunlight on average). Today most of boys still play and some of them will go to Philadephia 76ers NBA basketballer camp this summer. Our players come from modest means and do not have the funds to pay for this much deserved camps and tournaments. The Team and individual players needs $20,000 to travel to and attend the camps and to play in US and Scandinavian tournaments. April some of these boys will heading to Sweden to see who is best in Scandinavia. They will also have summer camp and that is for everybody from that team. And its not all about playing basketball, coach Milla would love to suprise her players by taking them to eat , maybe buy new pair of shoes to somebody just to let these players to know how much they are loved. It's all about caring and that means to help each other no matter where you live, are you rich or poor, black or white.

Basketball provided a safe and healthy outlet for these boys for 9 years. In that time, something special happened. These boys matured into a team of responsible, kind and honest men. And along the way, they turned into some mighty fine basketball players. For 9 years, they practiced Monday through Friday, with games or tournaments nearly every weekend. I have never seen this type of dedication in such young people in my life. That hard work has make sure that already two of these boys got in National boys team"

FROM THE BOYS:
"Our coaches have been with us from the beginning. They didn't just intend to teach us how to play basketball. They got to know our families and our stories. We learned how to play basketball.... but some other things happened. We became more responsible and nicer to each other. We started working harder at school. Our parents said we were more respectful at home. We learned how to respect each other, even when we didn't agree."
