Finn Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Everyone who has ever met Finn knows he is a special soul. He is a once-in-a-lifetime friend to not only me but most people who know him. I am making this go-fund-me because I am reaching a point with his medical care where I am unable to take on any more debt.
** some people have shared that they are having issues with donating through to fund me, please feel free to also Venmo me at @julia_hoyt or cash app me at $JuliaHoyt with the caption “For Finn” **

On August 11th, 2023, I awoke to Finn barely conscious and cold. I rushed him to the emergency vet where they told me had a mass on his spleen that had ruptured and he was internally bleeding. I had no idea anything was wrong prior to this and Finn had seemed like his normal self. To save Finn's life, they had to give him a blood transfusion and conduct emergency surgery to remove his spleen and the Tumor. The total for his hospital stay was over 8,000 dollars, but anyone who has met Finn knows he is worth it. We waited two painfully long weeks for the results of whether or not it was cancer, while Finn surprised us all with his strength and miraculously recovered from emergency surgery, defying the odds the vets had given us. Finn's tumor, unfortunately, came back positive for Stromal Sarcoma. It was a low grade (grade 1) and low mitotic count (4), which means he had a chance of going into remission if we started chemo right away. Finn has gone through 3 of 5 rounds of chemotherapy, and tomorrow we get his fourth round of chemo done, as well as ultrasound scans and x-rays done to determine if the cancer has progressed. It is vital that we are able to re-grade his cancer at this stage, but I am currently in a position where I have maxed out my Care-Credit paying for his treatments so far. I fortunately do have pet insurance, but the bills for Finn's care even after what insurance covers have surpassed what I am able to afford. The estimate for Finn's treatment tomorrow is 1800-2400 dollars (photo of estimate attached). If additional treatment is needed based on the scans, I will update the amount. Any additional money raised will go towards his future treatments and vet bills, including his next two rounds of chemotherapy. At this point, I may need to cancel future rounds of chemo if I am unable to come up with the money. If you can donate any amount, I would be eternally grateful, and it will go towards giving me more precious time with my soulmate, and my best friend. Even if you cannot donate, please share and feel free to comment any memories you have with Finn. I love him so much as I know many of you do. Thank you <3
