Fiona needs a car

As many of you know, I have mentored a young lady for over 10 years. We were matched through Big Brothers /Big Sisters. Her name is Fiona and I adore her.

For the past 4 years Fiona was with CPS and was in, and I am not kidding, over 20 different placements. But through sheer determination she graduated from high school this past May. She is 18 now and on her own with some support from CPS. But it is hard to be an adult in Austin, Texas without a car. I have helped her set up her apartment and done other things to help her - but she really needs a car. With the help of my friend Elliot Zirkle (who does this for a living) we have identified a great used car for Fiona. We have also worked getting her some insurance. $6,000 is not all we need but it will get us close enough with tax, title and title and insurance.

Fiona is a very hard worker and she has been working 2 jobs, but when you work minimum wage and pay your expenses it just doesn't leave very much. It could take her years to save for a car.
