FIP lifesaving treatment funding

Hi, my name is Kenzy and the cat on the cover photo is my little baby Dean, who’s only a year and a half old. If you can tell his stomach is quite round, not because he’s overweight, actually he is currently underweight, but turns out he has FIP (which is a form of coronavirus for cats) and specifically the effusive (wet) version of the disease. What this means is he has liquid in his stomach that is not supposed to be there and is incredibly painful for him and potentially fatal. We took him to a vet back in December because he had lost his usual energy and stopped eating altogether. At first the first vet we went to thought it was Stomotitis (which is gingivitis for cats) so we ran some tests and did blood work and they saw there was some kind of infection but couldn’t say for sure what is was so we tried a medication to fix what we thought was just a gum disease. It helped tremendously for a little while and we thought we were in the clear. He was back to eating and drinking normally and more than ever before! Then when he started gaining weight it was all going to his stomach. He was underweight and we were trying to bring him back to his normal healthy weight which can take up to 2/3 months. So we figured it was all just going to his stomach first because he was eating so much and surely it would even back out. Well almost two months go by and his stomach is huge but nothing else was evening out. His butt, legs, neck and head are all dangerously skinny while his stomach is protruding. So we made the decision to take him to another vet to get a second opinion of what was going on. Come to find out he has FIP and a very severe case at that. The treatment is going to take 3 months, with a lot of vet visits, medication, blood work, and testing. And unfortunately I am currently not in a position to be able to pay for this treatment. This really is my last hope. I currently am going to be doing all I can and picking up any extra work that I can. My fiance and I both work full time but the current state of our economy really has us on our last leg unfortunately. I love Dean (my cat) more than anything, he deserves a long happy life and I would love to give that to him. He’s truly the sweetest and most gentle little kitty I’ve ever met. It absolutely kills me that this is happening to him, and especially that I can’t afford the one thing that could save his life. So if anyone feels it in their heart to give, anything helps and I would be forever grateful. Thank you ❤️
